Forres surrender a 1st half lead to Wick

Written by

Forres Mechanics surrendered a three nil half-time lead to Wick Academy who went on an amazing second half comeback to take all the league points back up north with them. Stuart Soane put the cans on their way with a goal after ten minutes and hit his second seven minutes later. Lee Fraser hit a third just after 20 mins to put his side in the driving seat and all the league points looking like staying at home. Wick, however had other plans and came out in the 2nd half and began their comeback with a goal from Weir followed by another two from Allan and McGregor and bring their side level. Further goals from Anderson and Macadie compounded the misery for the home side and ensure Wick went home with all the league points after an amazing comeback. FT - Forres 3 Wick 5.

Forres march through to the next round

Written by

Forres Mechanics are through to the 2nd Round of the Scottish Cup after a 4-0 convincing win over local neighbours Lossiemouth at Grant Road.  Forres started the match brighlty and took the lead when a Simon Allan deep free kick saw Graham Fraser rise the highest and put the Cans into a deserved lead after 23 mins. Graham's twin Lee also then got into the act when he got on the end of a Dachi cross from the right to give the away side a comfortable half-time lead. After half-time things got worse for the home side when Scott Graham finished off a great move and score a Forres third goal from all off 18 yards. Lee Fraser then completed a fantastic scoreline for Forres when he nodded in his second of the match from another corner to send the Cans into the next round to meet away either Leith Athletic or Cumbernauld who play in their replay on Wednesday. FT - Lossiemouth 0 Forres 4.

Forres Mechanics goalkeeper Stuart Knight scored a dramatic last minute header to earn a Scottish Cup replay against Lossiemouth at Mosset Park. Forres took the lead from a strike from Lee Fraser after Lossiemouth failed to clear a corner after only 9 minutes and it remained that way until half-time. 10mins into the 2nd half Lossiemouth were back in the game when they were awarded a penalty which also resulted in captain Graeme Grant being shown a red card after a challenge on Ross Archibald and Scott Millar drilled home the spot kick. Lossiemouth then took the lead when the former Cans striker smashed home a 30 yard drive. Deep into injury time Forres were heading out the cup until Knight went up the field for the corner and met Allans cross to send Mosset Park into wild celebrations and earn another crack in the cup next week. FT Forres 2 Lossiemouth 2.
