Forres Mechanics came away from a wet Grantown with a first away league win of the season after a 3-1 win which also ended being a double celebration for the club with captain Graeme Grant making his 400th appearance for the club. The first talking point came even before a ball was kicked when Kyle Scott was named as a surprised trialist in the starting eleven and straight away he was involved in the attacking play which also lead to Lee Fraser scoring after 30mins. Kyle was again involved in the second goal when a Simon Allan corner was headed back across the goal for Soane to nod the ball in from yards out to put the Cans into a two goal half-time lead. Strathspey pulled a goal back at the start of the 2nd half after the Cans defence failed to clear the ball and Edwards slid in at the back post to pull his side back into the game. This however was short lived when the Cans again pulled clear when Soane again scored with yet another header to ensure the Cans went home with all three away league points. FT Strathspey 1 Forres 3
Forres Mechanics came back from 2-1 to force a draw against Clach on Saturday at Mosset Park. Forres did take the lead when a Soane diving header was enough to seperate the sides at half-time. Clach came back into the game on the hour mark when Lawrie took advantage of a defensive mix-up from the home side and then went into the lead six minutes later through Ian Penwright. Ten minutes later the Cans were back on level terms when a Soane header found the back of the net and the ensure the Cans for the second game in a row end as a draw. FT - Forres 2 Clach 2
Forres Mechanics travelled to Formartine Utd and came away with a worthy point but would have been unhappy not to come away with all three points after being two goals up within the half hour mark. The Cans took the lead with a trademark free-kick from Scott Graham and then doubled their lead when Martin Groat scored his first competitive goal for the club and take his side into a impressive half-time lead. Seven minutes into the 2nd half Formartine pulled a goal through Scott Barbour and 15 mins later were back level with a goal from Graham Rodger and send both clubs home with a point a piece.
Forres Mechanics came back from a goal down to record our second and much needed league win of the new season. Keith, however did take the lead after 35 mins with a 20 yard free-kick from Whelan to take his side in front over the interval but John Cameron sprung the Keith offside trap to equalise and score his 1st competitve goal for the club on just about the hour mark. Lee Fraser then came of the bench and put the Cans in front with a pile driver from the right side of the park and then Forres went into a 3-1 lead when Keith defender Clark put the ball into his own net just before Scott Graham hit another Forres goal with a stunning free-kick to give the Cans the full three points.
Forres Mechanics travelled to the home of the League leaders today and came away with no points and no goals scored to show for their efforts. The first half started badly for Forres when they had to make a substitution after only five mins when Craig McGovern limped off with a knock to his knee and then were forced into a second change after 35 mins when Lee Fraser had to come off with a head wound which disrupted the side, so it was no suprise when Buckie took the lead just before half-time through John McLeod. The second half didn't get much better for Forres when McLeod scored again with his second and then Sam Urquhart added Buckie's third to ensure the home sides great start to the season continue. FT Buckie Thistle 3 Forres 0.
