  • Fraser Twins Sign Extension

Forres Mechanics are delighted to announce that Graham and Lee Fraser have both agreed to sign a 3 year extension to their current contract. This new deal will also provide both brothers with Testimonials once they attain 10 years loyal service with our club which will occur within the timescales of the new deal.

Both players have been valuable assets for the club in recent years, which included playing a major part of our title winning season.

    Manager Charlie Rowley said

“I am absolutely delighted with Lee and Graham both signing extensions to their contracts which shows their loyalty and commitment to this club, which continues to go from strength to strength.

This is another example of our club showing ambition by signing valuable players in important positions so that we can challenge other clubs in the league and cup competitions.”

  • New Can Cans Lotto

A NEW Forres lottery is being launched which will benefit the town’s community groups and will help to make developments at Mosset Park and for its team.

The first winner of the new Cans Fans’ Lotto will be drawn in February and organisers of the initiative are encouraging the whole town to get on board.

The weekly lottery will enable the Forres Mechanics Committee to make investments in the Club but will also benefit the wider community as twice a year, contributions will be made to local community groups.

Spearheading the project is Graham Alexander who explained: “The town of Forres is fortunate to have wonderful landmarks such as the Tolbooth, Nelson’s Tower and the Town Hall. Mosset Park also has historic importance having hosted football matches for over 130 years. Over recent years the Tolbooth, Nelson’s Tower and the Town Hall have all benefitted from volunteers giving up their time to improve and maintain them and in no small part, the generosity of the people of Forres in funding these works. Likewise, Forres Mechanics has wonderful volunteers but needs financial support to allow necessary upkeep and improvements to take place. This Lotto is being run so people in Forres have the opportunity to play a lottery where the money will remain in the local area.

Graham who is the general manager for AJ Engineering, a sponsor of the Club and promoter of the Lotto added that there will also be benefits for organisations in the town too.

“Twice a year, the committee will identify deserving community groups from the Forres area and financial contributions will be made. At the moment we can’t state how much we will be able to donate as this will depend largely on how many people take part in the lottery.”

The lottery will run each week and the first draw will take place on February 2.

A line costs £2 and if a winner matches all four numbers they scoop the jackpot of £1000. In addition to the lottery, prizes of £100, £50, 2x £25 will be given out each week as a raffle draw.

Dr James Anderson, chairman of the Forres Mechanics committee said he hopes people will take part: “Firstly we hope people will have some fun with it. We are certain that people will take part as there is a lot of support in Forres for the Club not just from our football supporters but also from those who recognise the value of the Club to the town. We want the Club to become self-sustaining and be viable for the future.

“Mosset Park always needs some kind of work or investment. For example, we want to make the ground more accessible to those who have mobility issues, we need to invest in new floodlights and the changing rooms need upgrading. The list goes on.”

Dr Anderson said as well as investment at the Club, money will be made available to the community too: “We want to be able to make our contribution to the community, not just with regard to ensuring that football is accessible to all, but also to support those other projects that make Forres the great town that it is.”

Tickets for the Lotto will be available to buy from January. People can play online at or directly through Club officials.
