What with injuries, pitch problems and the absence of a regular striker, the results on the playing side were not as we would all have hoped last season however, it is not all doom and gloom at Mosset Park. During the 2023 close season the floodlights were renewed with help from various funders including the SFA, UK Government, Berryburn, Scottish Landfill Community Fund, Forres Common Good and individual donations. During the present close season, the club has engaged a ground works company to improve the pitch drainage which should help cope with the increasingly wet winters we are getting. The volunteers are working extremely hard to increase the income to the club so that we can help maintain the ground and help the manager to strengthen the playing squad. The club has an excellent youth development scheme which is providing organised football coaching for youngsters from 8 to 18 years of age and we hope that some of the youth players will break through to the senior team this season.
Everyone at Mosset Park is looking forward to the 2024-25 season with vigour and enthusiasm and we are excited to anticipate and experience better results on the pitch. We appreciate that supporters want a winning team but the manager has to operate within the financial resources of the club and it is when the going gets tough that we need all the supporters to pull together.
The Forres Mechanics FC is extremely grateful to all its sponsors, supporters and volunteers and we are determined to remain a community sponsored club which continues its long history as a member of the Highland Football League.
An open meeting will be held at Mosset Park on Thursday 11th July at 7.00pm when supporters are welcome to attend and put their questions to the manager and members of the board.
If you cannot attend on 11th July then we look forward to seeing our supporters back at the first competitive match on 27th July 2024.
